The construction of a communal church in Beauvais dedicated to Saint Etienne dates from the late 10th century. The construction of the Romanesque church dates from 1120. The nave and the facade were completed in the 13th century. Between 1506 and 1556, the choir was rebuilt in Flamboyant Gothic style. In 1583, a belfry tower replaced the lantern tower, which was destroyed in 1480. During the Revolution, the church suffered extensive damage (destruction of the gate and stained glass).
