    Kuvaus :

“Mehmet’s Yeşil Türbe, set on an eminence beside the mosque (the Green Mosque or Yeşil Cami in Turkish), was completed after Mehmet’s death by…Hacı Ivaz who built the mosque. The outside is adorned with turquoise tiles, inferior replacements from Kütahya of the originals destroyed in the 1855 earthquake. The wooden doors are magnificently carved, and just inside is a lovely fluted arch covered in polychrome tiles. The tilework inside, especially that of the mihrab, is as glorious as that in the mosque; and the Sultan’s tomb, raised on a tiled platform and decorated with all the designs and delicate colors that the craftsmen were capable of, with a flowing inscription in yellow superimposed, is a work of superb virtuosity. It was intended to stand alone on its plinth in imperial isolation, but the space was to valuable not to be used, and various sons and daughters, and also a nanny, have joined Mehmet I. “
