Paikkakunta : Dendera

“From Asyut he [the Polish poet Juliusz Słowacki (1)] sailed on to Dendera where he met the Hońyński brothers who had travelled ahead. He describes the temple in Dendera:
That building, the largest after the pyramids, plunged us into ecstasy. We walked among the pillars as if stunned, we sat on the ground admiring, talking with pity about those voyagers who cannot imagine such marvels. In short, we have fed our eyes, our heart and we have locked in our heart a day of memories—so marvelous that it even augmented our friendship between us.” (2)
